Youth Football & Cheer for ages 5-15 years old!

We are proud members of the Chicagoland Pop Warner

Here are a few important changes for this week:
  1. All Coaches for Football and Cheer are changing practice times to 530-730pm
  2. Remember that practice is now Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
  3. There will be NO pictures on Wednesday–we have a few cheerleaders missing uniforms and do want them to miss out on their team or individual pictures.  PMI was closed for the holiday weekend, but will let me know tomorrow when they arrive at the office a new date we can reschedule for.  I will let everyone know as soon as I find out.
  4. Tiney Mite through Jr Midget teams are at home this Saturday–you will need to stop in the concession area and sign up with Sherry for volunteer jobs.  I ask that you NOT work your son’s game, you need to be there the game prior for weigh-ins so it’s best to sign up for the game before your son’s game.
    • we need help in concession, 50/50, scoreboard, chains for the field, clean up and setting up the field in the morning (we need to rope off the field, set up scoreboard, set up concessions, etc)
    • There is lots to do and we would appreciate help
  5. The Midgets play in Naperville this Sunday.
  6. If your son or daughter’s uniform did not fit properly or were missing game pants I need to know immediately so Chris can place a correction order Tuesday.  Please email me tonight regarding any problems.  if you are missing game pants please tell me what size your son wears (they are the same pants as our practice pants)

    • On Sept 6th we will host a cross over game for Oswego and Indiana at our field.  I will need some parent volunteers to help with concessions, chains, mandatory plays, clean up and scoreboard.  Please see me if you can help with this game–time would be 4pm-530pm
    • On September 28th the JM team no longer has a BYE week. They are now scheduled to play Indiana at Chesterton High School, 2125 S 11th Street, Chesterton IN 46304.  Game starts at 3pm
    • On October 18th the MM will now play that SATURDAY! Evanston was unable to secure the field that Sunday, so they needed to switch days.  Location remains the same at Evanston HS & game is now at 3pm.
    • You must arrive 1 hour before the start of your game. This allows time for weigh ins and warm ups before the game starts.
    • Reminder for practice–you must come to the field and pick up your child, some parents are letting their kids wander around the parking lot and we don’t want anyone hit by a car.  So for safety, please come down to the field and pick up your child at the end of practice.  Now that it’s getting dark earlier, your coach MAY end practice a little earlier.  Coach Keesha from Cheer asks that you sign in and sign out your daughter for every cheer practice.
Registration is now closed for cheer and football.
As we know from the changes in school policies that food allergies are a growing concern. We have a quite a few Spartans players that have severe food allergies. I ask that all of you not bring trail mix, nuts of any kind or peanut butter snacks to practice or games.

It is an Illinois state school law ( not a Spartan rule) that NO pets or smoking is allowed on school grounds.

Let’s take a moment tonight to remind your child to pick up after themselves at practice. We are to leave JCA cleaner than we found it—everyday that we are there. It’s a huge privilege and honor to play at JCA–let’s respect their school property.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Thank you,
Robynn Fosen

“Winning is not a sometime thing, it is an all the time thing. You don’t do
things right once in a while…you do them right all the time.”

“Unless a man believes in himself and makes a total commitment to his career
and puts everything he has into it – his mind, his body, his heart – what’s
life worth to him?”

“Once a man has made a commitment to a way of life, he puts the greatest
strength in the world behind him. It’s something we call heart power. Once a
man has made this commitment, nothing will stop him short of success.”

“The quality of a person’s life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless of their chosen field of endeavor.”

“It’s not whether you get knocked down, it’s whether you get up.”

Vince Lombardi
